As a North Yorkshire wedding photographer, I get to work at some amazing venues across North Yorkshire and the North East, but every now and again you photograph a wedding that just has absolutely everything.
Gary and Kelly’s wedding at Treebridge Hotel was definitely one of those weddings.
Loads of personality, loads of laughs, brilliant guests and honestly one of the most fun relaxed atmospheres you could ask for as a documentary wedding photographer And somehow… Cindy the horse completely stole the show.
Relaxed Wedding Photography At Treebridge Hotel
One thing I love about Treebridge Hotel weddings is how relaxed they naturally feel.
The venue itself sits in such a lovely location near Nunthorpe surrounded by countryside views and the whole atmosphere there always feels welcoming rather than overly formal.
That works perfectly for my style of wedding photography because I’ve always preferred capturing weddings naturally as they happen rather than turning the day into one big photoshoot.
As a Treebridge Hotel wedding photographer, my focus is always on capturing real moments, genuine emotion, natural reactions and the atmosphere of the day as it naturally unfolds. For me, wedding photography has always been about storytelling rather than stiff posing or forced moments. That’s what makes wedding photographs feel meaningful years later, and honestly Gary and Kelly’s wedding had loads of that from start to finish.
Gary & Kelly Were So Much Fun To Photograph
From the minute I arrived at Treebridge Hotel, the atmosphere around the wedding just felt brilliant.
Gary and Kelly were both so relaxed all day and that naturally rubs off on everybody else around them too.
There was loads of laughter throughout the entire wedding day and absolutely no stress or awkwardness at all.
Those are always the weddings that create the strongest natural wedding photographs because people stop worrying about the camera and simply enjoy themselves.
That’s always when the magic happens.
Cindy The Horse Completely Stole The Show
Now after photographing weddings across North Yorkshire and the North East for more than 17 years, I’ve seen all sorts happen at weddings…
…but not many include a horse arriving as a guest.
When Cindy made her appearance during Gary and Kelly’s wedding, everybody absolutely loved it.
Honestly, she completely stole the attention for a while and became one of the highlights of the entire day.
Those unexpected moments are honestly some of my favourite things to photograph because they’re completely genuine and impossible to recreate.
That’s one of the reasons I love documentary wedding photography so much. You can’t script moments like that.
The Little Wedding Details Made The Day Feel Personal
One thing Gary and Kelly absolutely nailed was making the wedding feel personal to them.
There were little touches and details all throughout the day that reflected their personalities and relationship rather than everything feeling overly formal or staged.
One thing I absolutely loved was their wedding cake topper which featured lifelike bobble heads of the two of them honestly they looked ridiculously accurate and had everybody talking about them all evening.
Those little details always help tell the full story of the wedding day properly.
Why Treebridge Hotel Is Such A Great Wedding Venue
As a North Yorkshire and North East wedding photographer, I genuinely think Treebridge Hotel is such a lovely venue for couples wanting a relaxed wedding atmosphere.
The countryside surroundings work beautifully for natural wedding photography and the venue itself has such a welcoming feel throughout the entire day.
It also gives couples the chance to step outside for a few relaxed photographs together without disappearing from guests for ages.
That’s really important to me.
I never want couples spending hours away from their wedding day posing for photographs. I’d much rather capture natural moments while still creating beautiful relaxed portraits along the way.
