Some wedding days just have a certain energy about them from the moment you arrive, and Alex and Brontë’s wedding at Danby Castle Barn was exactly that. Relaxed, full of laughter, and surrounded by people who clearly meant the world to them. It was one of those days where everything felt natural and easy, and those are always the weddings that photograph beautifully.

One of the most common things couples say to me when they first get in touch is, “We’re not very photogenic” or “We hate being posed in photos.” And honestly? That’s completely normal.

Most people don’t spend their lives in front of a camera, and the thought of being photographed all day on your wedding can feel intimidating. The good news is that natural wedding photos don’t come from knowing how to pose — they come from feeling comfortable, relaxed, and present in the moment.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing weddings across North Yorkshire, Teesside and the North East — from elegant country house venues to relaxed coastal celebrations and intimate registry office ceremonies.

Tucked away in the North Yorkshire countryside, Howard Court is one of those venues that feels personal, calm and full of character — the kind of place where weddings feel real, unhurried and deeply meaningful. As a North Yorkshire wedding photographer, venues like this are an absolute dream to work in.

Bradley and Sophie’s wedding day was one of those occasions that felt easy, genuine, and full of joy from beginning to end. Their ceremony took place at South Shields Town Hall, followed by a relaxed and happy celebration at Hedworth Hall, and it was a real pleasure to capture their day as it unfolded naturally.
