Here you’ll find real weddings I’ve photographed across the North East and North Yorkshire, including countryside barns, coastal venues and relaxed celebrations full of personality. My style is natural and unobtrusive, capturing genuine emotion without posing or pressure.
If you’re planning your own wedding, I hope these stories help you imagine how your day could feel.
Cashel and Sarah | Pre-wedding photo shoot.
I have know Cashel since I was at Huntcliffe School, the secondary school we shared. Sarah was in the year below us at the same school. So when they contacted us to cover their big day we saw it as a honour to do so. They are both such fun loving people. In fact they helped fit the signage to the front our new studio in Guisborough.
Andrew and Nadia's | Gisborough Hall, Wedding.
Gisborough Hall is one of the most beautiful wedding locations we get to work from, and its only just round the corner from our studio. Especially with the weather like it was on Sunday, I believe it hit 30 degrees. which with a full black uniform perhaps isn't the best choice. The discussions between us of perhaps having a white summer uniform was a good idea. Nadia had very specific idea in mind for her wedding photography, we managed to manage to capture the whole wedding working a full 7 hour plus extra to make sure we got every detail, every moment captured.
Andrew and Nadia's | Pre-wedding Shoot, Gisborough Hall
This morning saw us head out of the studio for Andrew and Nadia's pre-wedding shoot at Gisborough Hall. Their wedding is this Sunday and if the weather report from today is anything to go by then the day will be fantastic. Gisborough Hall is our closest venue to work at, our studio is simply round the corner. We have about a ten minute walk away.
Rhian and Mathew | Bump photoshoot.
Rhian and Mathew contacted us on our Facebook page asking if we did bump shoots, has Rhian was 25 weeks pregnant. It lovely to see yet another couple with a fab little parcel to arrive. We chatted about background colour, various different styles of shoot before getting started. You could tell Mathew was nervous bless him, he had never been in front of the camera before and openly admitted he hated his photo taking.
Graeme and Kerry's | Wainstones Hotel Wedding.
We have covered wedding photography at the Wainstones Hotel wedding venue, quite a few times now. Each time we have been met with professionalism and friendliness from Dave and his staff. We, as we do for all our weddings, were looking forward to covering Graeme and Kerry's wedding. Every client we have seems to make a friendly connection with us, which is ideal from our point of view, been able to have a client relaxed in front of the camera is exactly what we need to get the best photography.
Lee and Janine | Grinkle Park Wedding
Both Lee and Janine came to meet us at our photography studio in Guisborough, they seemed a very fun loving couple to work with, so when they booked us for their wedding photography at Grinkle Park Hotel we were over the moon. Strangely enough this was the second wedding and in fact the second day of the weekend we worked at Grinkle Park.
Jamie and Lyndsay |Grinkle Park Wedding
Jamie and Lyndsay booked their wedding photography with us, what seems like ages ago. We first met them at Luke and Victoria's wedding at Raithewaite Hall in Sandsend, Whitby- North Yorkshire. We felt honoured to be booked for wedding photography by them, as we do by any of our clients. When any client books their wedding photography, we see it that they have enough confidence in our wedding photography and us to make that investment in booking us for their most important day of their life.
Bump photo shoot | Sally
Sally turned up at our studio one morning asking if we did bump photography, and as we do she booked us! But I can’t end the blog there?
Sally wanted the shoot very simple and the focus to be more on her bump, which after all that is the important bit. Working with low light we did some really nice classically arty shots, and got exactly what she wanted.
FOOD FIGHT!! children's parties rock!
Well, we have been asked to and have hosted children’s parties before at our studio, but never one with a food fight! Imogene’s mum, Kirsty, came to us asking for a photo shoot/ party for Imogene and two of her friends. You see it was their final year at school and they were all going to separate senior schools, so to have something to remind them of their friendship would be perfect.
Cheeky Blossom | Dog portrait
Well what can we say about this one? Blossom is a cheeky little thing belonging to Sarah and Rachel, two sisters who are fast becoming our most popular clients, this I believe is the third shoot we have done for them now, but the first with Blossom. Armed with bags full of treats they turned up much to Wilf and Luie’’s delight thinking they had a new play mate to pester, We closed the door so they could get out and started shooting.
Alan and Lucy’s wedding| Rushpool Hall, Saltburn
Second wedding of the week this one at Rushpool was Alan and Lucy’s at Rushpool Hall, Saltburn. Now to think that our studio used to be based in a country house not more than a few yards away from Rushpool, this is actually the first wedding we have covered at this venue. We have worked at Wynyard Hall, Crathrone, Hardwick, Ravenscar, Gisborough Hall, but never Rushpool.
Hallie and Isaac| Portrait photo shoot.
Following little ambers shoot, one of Sarah’s friend booked us to do some child portraits of her little two – Hallie and Isaac. Hallie was a little tinker with her cheeky smile as was Isaac who kept crawling straight to the camera, which seemed to develop into a game. Both where fantastic kids and as studio photographers we feel privileged to work with such cute and cheeky kids
Ambers Birthday | Photo Shoot.
We have worked with both Sarah and her sister before whilst they where Bridesmaids at one of the weddings we were covering the photography of in Guisborough. Not forgetting Amber’s christening portraits. So when we moved our studio to Guisborough they where one of the first to follow us and book, I believe, three more shoots with us.
Photoshoot | new studio, Guisborough
Sarah and Phil came to us on our first week wanting a shoot doing for their two young tikes. Of course this is our business so we where glad to help. We asked them to bring some props along with them on Saturday, we find it much more personal to ask our clients to bring their own props, it simply means that we can make the shot personal to them rather than us using props we have in our studio which might not fit the clients hobbies or interests.
Alan and Lucy | Pre-wedding photo shoot
Seems like all we are doing at the moment is weddings and associated things, Alan and Lucy’s wedding is in October so to have their pre-wedding shoot now is perfect, and after Lucy contacted us through Facebook it was arranged. Now Alan isn’t the shyest of people he’s up for a laugh and i believe their wedding at Rushpool Hall, will have most of the guests on Space Hoppers!
Kenny & Sally's Wedding | Whitby Registry Office
Its seems a lifetime since Sally and Kenny booked us for their wedding photography, yet it seems like only yesterday I did their pre-wedding shoot, that's because it was. You see they don't live in he area and have travelled up purely for their wedding which took place on Saturday afternoon. They chose this weekend because It was Sally's mums birthday who had passed away some time ago. So it was a very emotional weekend, and with temperatures soaring to the dizzy 28's and with it been Whitby Regatta weekend too..
Photo shoot | Redcar RNLI
A little different type of shoot for us today, you see been a studio and wedding photographer is fantastic, we get to meet and work with some fantastic people, pets and client in some wonderful places. But your work a photography is, I can't quite find the right word and don't want to use it but, dictated by your clients venues weather etc.
Ian and Francesca | pre-wedding shoot
Ian and Francesca booked us to cover their wedding photography a while back now. But their big day is almost upon us, time seems to be flying this year. They arrived at the studio in fine fettle, they are both very easy going and funny to work with. Been paramedics they have to have a lighter view on life. Ian brought his son along to so we had even more fun with the shoot.
