I've photographed weddings at Gisborough Hall Hotel in Guisborough for many years now, and it's one of those venues where I always enjoy going back. Being local certainly helps because I know the area well, but it's also a venue that gives me plenty of opportunities to photograph a wedding without having to spend half the day taking the couple away from their family and friends.

I've photographed weddings all over North Yorkshire and the North East over the years, but there's always something nice about working close to home, especially when you've got places like St Leonard's Church in Loftus and the coastline around Skinningrove practically on your doorstep.

I've photographed weddings at Grinkle Park Hotel for many years now, and although I've worked at wedding venues all over North Yorkshire, the North East and further afield, Grinkle is somewhere I've always enjoyed returning to. It's a beautiful country house hotel, the grounds are lovely and there's plenty of choice when it comes to wedding photographs, but there's another reason I rate the place so highly, and that's the people who work there.

Whinstone View is one of those wedding venues that offers something a little different from the traditional country house or hotel wedding. Tucked away near Great Ayton in North Yorkshire, it's a lovely countryside setting with its own character, plenty of space and, from my point of view as a wedding photographer, some really good opportunities for natural photographs without having to disappear off somewhere for half an hour.
