I'm going to start this article by saying something that might seem a little strange coming from somebody who's spent almost two decades photographing weddings across North Yorkshire and the North East. When you're choosing your wedding photographer, please don't make your decision based entirely on ten beautiful photographs you've seen on their website.

I'm beginning to think I should have my own parking space at Grand Villa Heights in Ravenscar, having photographed two weddings there in just over a week! This time I was back for Michael and Kealeigh's wedding, and although the venue was the same as the previous week, it was a completely different day with plenty happening from the ceremony right through to the evening celebrations.

Mobile phones have become such a normal part of everyday life that it's almost impossible to go anywhere without somebody taking a photograph or recording a video. Weddings are certainly no exception, and over the years I've seen more and more guests wanting to capture their own little piece of the day.

I've photographed weddings at quite a few venues along the North Yorkshire coast over the years, but there's something a little different about arriving at Grand Villa Heights in Ravenscar. The views across Robin Hood's Bay are fantastic, although being perched high above the coastline also means you're rather exposed to whatever weather is coming in off the North Sea, something we were certainly reminded of during Joe and Leah's wedding!
