A Relaxed Approach To Prom Photography

One thing I hear time and time again is, "They're not very comfortable in front of the camera."

Honestly, that doesn't worry me in the slightest.

Most of the people I photograph tell me exactly the same thing, and within a few minutes they're completely relaxed. I don't believe in forcing smiles or putting people into uncomfortable poses. Instead, we chat, have a laugh and create photographs naturally, making the whole experience enjoyable rather than something to get through.

Some of my favourite images are taken in those in-between moments when everyone forgets the camera is even there.

More Than Just A Photograph

Prom photography is about more than capturing a beautiful dress or a smart suit.

It's about the excitement before the evening begins, the proud smiles from parents, brothers and sisters wanting to join in for a quick photograph and grandparents stepping outside because they don't want to miss the occasion.
