Pinkfields Festival Brotton
Every year we put on our wellies, grab a coat, a tent, wind break, small picnic and our camera kit and head down to the The Arches Country House, for the pinkfields festival Brotton. This year was no exception. We support the beautiful Pink Ladies, who also organise the Pinkball, in all their events. This years festival brought back strong memories of a truly remarkable lady, Jacqui the co-founder of the Pink Ladies. It seems like only yesterday that I was crouched next to her deck chair at last years Pinkfields, after she had given me the greatest of hugs, she was telling me how optimistic she was that they where going to operate to remove her brain tumor. Jacqui sadly last her battle last year a very sad loss to us all and this been the first Pinkfield without her, everyones faces told her hurt, pain and accomplishments. A balloon release signified the thoughts everyone had and sending them to the heavens, to where her and everyone else who had lost their battle to cancer, was a poignant part of the day.
I’m sure Jacqui would have been proud, smile of her face, to be looking on down on what the girls had produced this year. Well done girls. We will be there by your side when you need us X
