I've been putting this blog off for a while now, the extra large banners of Jacqui around Gisborough Hall stand clear in my mind as if she was there in person. We've been supporting the Pink ladies quest to kick cancer into touch with their charity events for the past few years. This year was no different with pinkfields festival already covered earlier in the year. This was the last time we saw and spoke to the lovely Jacqui, she was suffering with a brain tumor, although positive because the surgeons had decided it was worth operating, she was always so up beat and bubbly, something that made the events go down with a bang. However Jacqui lost her battle a few months ago, this made the Pink Ball extra special and extra emotional.Claire and the girls had gone all out this year, rightly so. It was with a heavy heart, even though the mood was light, I captured the event. The weather reflected this with the torrential rain lashing against the windows outside. The appearance of Claire. Jo, Mandy, Tracey and everyone else there looking beautiful Jacqui would of been proud, especially with Tracey as she wore Jacqui's dress with pride (minus the glittery bits). A guest appearance from the one and only Bernie Slaven gave the lads of the evening something to concentrate one while the ladies emanate from the ora of their beautiful dresses. The evening went by with the greatest of success, I left after a couple of songs from the fabulous Last Anthem but I got the feeling Gisborough Hall was in for one hell of a party. My last thought was the glance I had to the banner with the larger than life image of jacqui on situated in the conservatory, It stood alone and proud. Her eyes pierced straight through me and seem to follow me as I walked by, her smile beaming as if she was their in person - this really hit home as I sat in the car for a good ten minutes before setting off.
RIP JAC MAY YOUR LEGACY LIVE ON THROUGH OTHERS THAT SUPPORT YOUR CAUSE YOU ARE SADLY MISSED BY ALL x.
