This was the first photographic job to cause some controversy for us at Discovery. We were asked to document a partridge shoot for a client for their new website, Been Wildlife photographers and avid animal lovers, it was questioned if it was a conflict in interest.

After many questions, learning and understanding that these birds have been breed purely for this purpose and the birds are all put to good use and none are simply wasted we agreed this was an ongoing tradition that had become part of wildlife itself, therefore an opportunity we could not turn down.

Been a photographer I have had chance to photograph some wonderful events, the shoot was no different,  It was a fantastic opportunity to capture something new and a little different from the norm. Knowing Local people and local economy thrive because of this tradition this event allowed us to learn and understand the opposed side of the ongoing debate making it much easier to document.

The Gentlemen on the shoot where all very friendly and it was more about socializing as much as the shoot itself. We were made to feel part of the family and part of the day. The one thing that REALLY got me was the dogs; they were so positive, intent on pleasing their master. They worked their little legs off all day. The dogs were all lovely and friendly too.  So for me the day was made by the dogs and their personalities…….so please don’t judge us we where there purely to document the day for the client.
