Oak Road Motor Factors have been established for a very long time and where in need of some  cool new Commercial images and a website.

We had already covered their Whitby Shop so to complete the job we needed to cover Redcar too.

The website is coming along very nicely and is nearly finished, its great to work with such great guys.

Today we popped over to Whitby to meet a wedding client and to start the commercial photography for Oak Road Motor factor/Whitby Motor factors. Of course been a beautiful day we had to pop into the Whitby Tea rooms for treacle tart and ice cream. The guys at The motor factor had a great laugh with us asking them to pose in a variety of poses. We still have to pop Oak Road motor factors to do their pictures too.

All this is to make their new site we are working on look great.

David & Leanne’s wedding at Grinkle Park, Easington

Posted March 15th, 2012 by Discovery Photography with No Comments

David and Leanne’s wedding at Grinkle park was a fresh mixture of fun and traditional wedding capers. Aided by the bright sunshine we managed to capture every second of the day. From Conga lines to horse and carts this wedding covered all the basis.

Leanne’s sister had a surprise for her and booked a horse and carriage to take them both for a trip around Grinkle lane, Leanne was in fact a horse lover but was allergic to them. The best man – Andy – had his own surprise for David but that one will have to remain out of the public eye, lets just say it involved bright orange pants and the stag do……..

All this aside Grinkle park was the perfect venue for David and Leanne’s wedding and we wish them all the best for the future…

Robert bought the photo shoot as a Christmas present for Caroline. When they arrived it only felt like yesterday that robert called by our studio on Redcar High Street to pick the certificate we made.

Cora their little one was brilliant smiling away at her dad making funny sounds and the results speak for themselves. Its great to have such wonderful families using us and appreciating our work.

Supreme plastics contacted us of our website asking us to take some new product images for there promotions material.

Based all over the world their, Whitby, North Yorkshire base seems a little out of place, but been local to us it was ideal.

After the initial meeting and a large box of product from Tesco and Persil to name a few, been dropped off we spent two full days taking images in various different styles, to make sure we did the best for the client and this morning we have just had confirmation that the images where exactly what they where looking for and they where over the moon with them…… well done us!

We like to support local charities to the best we can, and generally give out a portrait shoot certificate, Ruth won one from SODA (Survivors Of Domestic Abuse) one of those local charities we support.

Funniliy enough ruths sons where very close friends with me at Juniour school, we worked out it had been over 17 year since we last saw each other, even though we had each other as friend on facebook.

It was actually the Grand kids which Ruth wanted taking so she could have them up on her wall for all to see.

We worked with a a lovely family called the Turnbulls taking another family portrait. Straight away Tom and myself hit it off as he like wildlife… unsure on his favourite presenter though…. Simon king’s mine (just in case he reads this).

Another surprise for their dad for his birthday, portraits make lovely personal by inexpensive gifts for those you hold dear. Yet again they performed beautifully, Lucy had the model thing going on, which worked well and was very critical of the images we took.

Lets just hope their dad likes them.

A family Portrait shoot with the Sowerby Family

Posted February 15th, 2012 by Discovery Photography with No Comments

We have been taking a lot of family portrait photography lately, it seems more and more people are wanting quality images in a friendly environment… well I would say that as it our studio.

Vicky and her family where no exception to this and they came along to get some images for grandma’s birthday. (hope grandma doesn’t read this its not her birthday yet!)

It was also nice to shoot using a different coloured background to white, I think the grey gives a lovely warm and classy feel to a portrait.

The kids where perfectly behaved too and that meant we got through the shoot so much fast than we usually do. It was the funniest thing when the little one of the three copied his mum, who was stood over my shoulder pulling faces to get him to smile!

John and Su’s wedding in Whitby at the White house Hotel.

Posted February 13th, 2012 by Discovery Photography with 2 Comments

John and Su booked to do their wedding photography, even though they lived in Barnsley. Its always nice to have clients you really want your work and want you to cover their wedding.

Both myself and Kirsty had trepidation as to whether we get to whitby given the current weather, however there was a break just for the day.

but as you can see the snow just added to their fairy tail wedding.
