Discovery photography (aka Stuart) went above and beyond for our wedding, from the moment we had our first meeting me and my husband instantly felt at ease and excited to work with Stuart. From constant contact to the build up of our wedding to eventually being my security blanket throughout out the wedding day (I was very anxious and a nervous wreck haha) Stuart captured the most amazing photos and one of our favourite parts of our wedding was running over the moors living our full withering heights fantasy haha. I cannot recommend discovery photography enough, as a friend told me all you take home from your wedding is your rings, your photographs and your memories. We are so glad Stuart captured one of the most important days of our lives

My love for photography began when I was just six years old. I still remember the magic of holding my very first camera, the thrill of clicking the shutter, and then heading up to the loft with my dad — our little makeshift darkroom. We’d develop the prints together, hanging them out to dry over the bath, and I’d wait in awe as the images slowly revealed themselves. It felt like pure magic, and I knew even then that I’d found something special.

That spark has never left me. For the past 17 years, photography has grown from a childhood passion into my life’s work. It’s no longer just something I do — it’s who I am. Every wedding I capture is another chance to tell a story, to preserve emotions, and to create something timeless.

Today, I’m proud to call myself a documentary wedding photographer — capturing love, laughter, and life as it naturally unfolds. No posing, no pretence, just real, honest moments that you’ll treasure forever.

For many years, I’ve had the joy of not only capturing love stories but also sharing my passion with others through photography workshops. Helping local photographers grow, passing on my enthusiasm, and watching them fall in love with the art of storytelling through images has been such a rewarding part of my journey. Living here in beautiful North Yorkshire, I’m endlessly inspired by the landscapes, light, and history that surround us. I feel truly spoiled for choice when it comes to wedding photography locations.

Some of my favourites — Grinkle Park Hotel, Rushpool Hall, Howard Court, Sneaton Castle, and Danby Castle — each hold their own unique magic. From fairy tale castles to elegant halls and countryside escapes, every venue offers a different backdrop, a new way to tell a couple’s story. I’ve had the privilege of working at these incredible places for years, and every time I return, I find something new and beautiful to capture.

Because for me, it’s not just about the venue — it’s about how your love fills the space and makes it unforgettable.

“I do what I do for the smiles and occasionally a tears,  I bring to people’s faces with my photographs”

Photography, for me, is all about heart. I’m deeply passionate about capturing life as it truly happens — the raw, unplanned moments that often pass by in a blur but mean the most when you look back.

It’s the quiet glance between a couple when they think no one’s watching, the laughter that bursts out unexpectedly, the tear a parent wipes away during vows. These are the moments that make your story unique — and they’re the ones I live to capture.

I don’t believe in forced smiles or stiff poses. They never feel real. Instead, I look for the connection — between families, between friends, between two people in love. That’s where the magic is. That’s where the emotion lives.

Because while trends in photography may come and go, true, honest moments are timeless. And those are the memories I want you to hold on to forever..
